No Claim Bonus (NCB) transfer
Want to shift to another insurer while renewing? Many online platforms – including ours – let you transfer your accumulated NCB. This means you can keep your hard-earned NCB discounts, and enjoy the cost savings on your renewed policy.
So what should I keep in mind while renewing?
Quite simply, make sure you get the best and the most for the least! Here are some key points to note when renewing your vehicle insurance:

Review your cover
Is your current cover still enough, or does it need to be upped – or even reduced? Consider the age and condition of your vehicle, changes in your driving habits, and any add-on cover you may need.

Compare quotes
Don't settle for less. It’s important to compare quotes from different insurers. Online platforms make it easy to obtain multiple quotes and compare cover options, premiums, and deductibles. This allows you to find better deals, and prevents others from saying, “Oh, but you should have asked me…”

Check for discounts
You’re the customer, and the customer is King (or Queen). Insurance companies often offer discounts for a clean driving record, installation of safety devices in your vehicle, or when they bundle your vehicle insurance with other policies.

Consider deductible options
Evaluate your deductible, which is the amount you pay from your own pocket in a claim. Choosing a higher deductible can lower your premium, but can prove really costly if you have an accident. Select a deductible that strikes the right balance, keeping your finances in mind.

Add-ons really help
Check if there are any extra covers available that you may need, such as roadside assistance, zero depreciation, engine protection, or personal accident cover. Consider the value of these add-ons, and decide whether they are worth spending more on.

Check what isn’t included
Pay close attention to what the policy won’t cover, even if it’s boring to read! Some policies have specific exclusions for certain situations or damages. Make sure you’re 100% aware of these exclusions, and then decide if they are going to make a difference. A cover that doesn’t matter to someone else, may be really important for you.

Do a check of customer service and claims
Whether it’s us or any other insurer, ask around about customer service and claims settlement. Read reviews about how quick, responsive and efficient a company is while handling claims. A smooth and hassle-free claims process can make a major difference in stressful situations.

The fine print is important
Take the time to read and understand the terms and conditions of the policy before renewing – especially while changing insurers. Pay attention to the renewal process, policy duration, cancellation, and any changes in the terms as compared to your previous policy.
What are the documents I’ll need to renew my motor policy online?
There aren’t too many! Here are the common documents that most companies ask for while renewing your motor insurance policy online:
Keep a copy of your existing or expiring motor insurance policy handy. This has important details like the policy number, details of cover, and policy period. During the online renewal process, you’ll need many of these details.
The RC is a super-important document for insurance renewal. It tells you everything about your vehicle, including its make, model, engine number, and chassis number. Keep a copy of the RC for reference, and to submit during renewal.
If you’re the policyholder, you will need to identify yourself with proof. This is typically a copy of your valid Driver's License or any Government-issued ID. Make sure these documents are up-to-date and readily available to submit online.
Very important for maximizing your savings! If you’re eligible for a NCB after a claim-free policy period, you may need to provide supporting documents to get the discount – especially while changing your insurer. This may include a letter or document from the previous insurance company, mentioning just how much NCB you’ve earned.
Depending on the insurance provider, you may be asked to provide more documents. These could include proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement, or any other document that is seen as important during renewal. We keep documents to a minimum, BTW! To have a smooth renewal, carefully read the instructions from the insurer or visit their website and confirm which documents you’ll need. These requirements are different across insurers, and can even change based on where you stay. Keep digital copies of these documents ready for easy access when needed.

Got questions? We’ve got the answers.
Why do I need to renew motor insurance?
Firstly, because it’s the law! But just as important, renewing on time covers you against financial loss from accidents or theft, and lets you keep the benefits of a No Claim Bonus. Renewal on time means peace of mind.
What is the grace period for motor insurance renewal?
In motor insurance, there’s no such thing as a grace period. Once a policy expires, it immediately lapses. However, it is possible to renew your policy once it’s expired, provided your vehicle passes compulsory checking. Any NCB that you may have earned will remain valid only for 90 days after the policy expires.
Ideally, you should renew your policy well before it expires. But if you miss that, renew within this 90-day period to make the most of the NCB benefits.
Can I renew my motor insurance policy online?
Of course. In fact, online is the fastest, easiest and most hassle-free way to renew!
